We Are Here by Emilie Shapiro is a contemporary jewelry and body adornment line. She is inspired by the creative process and her ever-changing surroundings through travel and her home. Emilie considers herself an alchemist – instilling value, ideas and ideals into her pieces for the wearer to carry on. All of her work is crafted with recycled materials in her studio in Brooklyn.

Emilie received her B.F.A. in Art + Design with a concentration in jewelry and metalsmithing from Syracuse University. She also studied at Alchimia, a contemporary school of jewelry in Florence, Italy with artist Peter Bauhuis. Before launching her own line of jewelry and body adornment WE ARE HERE in 2010 – Emilie worked as the Production Manager at Pamela Love and Allforthemountain. Emilie is also a jewelry instructor at Liloveve Jewelry Studio in Brooklyn and teaches various jewelry workshops around the Greater NY area. Emilie uses metal as her main material to convey her ideas as wearable art.
