Poena Otium or Pain Relief are a series of medicinal headpieces. Through crystal healing, they have the power to bring about healing and positive changes to the mind and body. These pieces hold the amethysts close to your head as opposed to lying on the floor for the traditional crystal healing process. They also multi-function as wearable sculpture. I was inspired to make these works after living with migraines for the last ten years.

Western Georgia University's Sculpture department came to Syracuse University to teach has how to build a Koopla, an iron melting furnace and the ancient art of sand casting. We had a big BBQ and then suited up in our heat resisted garb and had an audience of about 50 people watching us perform.
